If you were thinking Celebration parties were over after New Years Eve, well remember you're in Mexico and probably you're wrong...😜🎉
Mexican Families and some other Hispanic countries, get together on January 6th also know as "Three Kings Day" to remind the special time where this three characters Melchor Gaspar y Baltazar start the journey to get to the place where Baby Jesus was born, leaded by the Belem Star carrying with them gifts such as gold, myrrh and incense.
Nowadays the tradition has better meaning for the kids at home, in order to receive the Three Kings at home they must make a handwritten letter asking for the gifts they would like to receive.
For the adults of the family the best part comes at night where they are able to share a big cake with hot cocoa. The interesting part of this cake is actually they have little plastic Baby Jesus hidden and if you happen to find it on your slice, you'll be having the next reunion with tamales on February 2nd at your place.
Millions of Balloons will be thrown to the sky by the kids that still believe and keep the spirit for this tradition, so the kings "can receive the message" Another way to send the handwritten letter is by mail.
Regularly in Mexico City and big cities you can also hang out with the Three Kings at malls or Public Places and even take a picture to remember the moment.
Do you already have yours? 📸😀
